Elad Gil holds a PhD from MIT and degrees in mathematics and biology from UC San Diego. He joined Google where he started the mobile team and served as product manager for Google Mobile Maps; he then co-founded Mixer Labs, which was acquired by Twitter in 2010. At Twitter he served as VP of Corporate Strategy and ran product, M&A, and operational teams. He co-founded Color Genomics in 2013 and served as CEO until 2016. He transitioned to full-time investing as a solo GP, backing more than 40 companies that became unicorns including Airbnb, Stripe, Coinbase, Figma, and Airtable. He is the author of High Growth Handbook, published by Stripe Press in 2018.
