Jim Tananbaum founded Foresite Capital in 2011, a healthcare-focused investment firm with approximately $3.5 billion in assets under management. He holds a BS and BSEE from Yale, an MD from Harvard (Harvard/MIT HST Program), and an MBA from Harvard. Earlier in his career he co-founded GelTex Pharmaceuticals, acquired by Sanofi-Genzyme for $1.4 billion, and co-founded Theravance Inc. He has been named to the Forbes Midas List five times and backed 10x Genomics, Jazz Pharmaceuticals, and Amerigroup.
