Kara Nortman is Managing Partner and co-founder of Monarch Collective, the first investment platform exclusively dedicated to women's sports, launched in 2023. The fund has grown to $250 million, investing in minority stakes in NWSL clubs including San Diego Wave, Boston Legacy FC, and German club FC Viktoria Berlin. Prior to Monarch, she was a Partner and co-Managing Partner at Upfront Ventures from 2014 to 2022, backing companies including Parachute Home and Writer. She co-founded Angel City Football Club, which became the most valuable women's soccer team in the world. Earlier in her career she spent nearly seven years at IAC co-heading M&A and served on the board of Hatch Labs, where Tinder was incubated.
