General Partner, Andreessen Horowitz (a16z)
a16z GP leading American Dynamism defense and aerospace fund
Katherine Boyle is a General Partner at Andreessen Horowitz and co-founder of the firm's American Dynamism practice, which she launched in 2022 alongside David Ulevitch. The American Dynamism fund has raised over $1.1 billion and invests in companies supporting the national interest across defense, aerospace, manufacturing, energy, logistics, public safety, housing, and education. Prior to a16z, she was a Partner at General Catalyst from 2016 to 2021, where she co-led seed investments and backed Anduril Industries from its earliest rounds, authoring a 16-page just war theory memo to support the initial $2M seed investment. She began her career as a general assignment reporter at The Washington Post before earning her MBA from Stanford GSB in 2016. She currently serves on the board of Anduril Industries.
Technology must serve the national interest; the next generation of defense, aerospace, and civic infrastructure companies will be founded by mission-driven entrepreneurs, not traditional defense contractors.
