Co-Founder and Partner, Homebrew
Seed investor focused on bottom-up economy
Satya Patel co-founded Homebrew in 2013 with Hunter Walk after serving as VP of Product at Twitter and as a product manager at Google on AdSense. He holds a BS in Finance from Wharton and a BA in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania. Homebrew transitioned in 2022 to an evergreen self-funded model, with Patel and Walk investing solely their own recycled capital rather than external LP funds. The firm has invested in 173 companies and produced 12 unicorns including Mercury, Chime, and Coda. Patel also co-launched Screendoor, a fund-of-funds supporting underrepresented emerging managers.
Bottom-up economy: technology that democratizes access for small businesses, overlooked industries, and historically underserved constituencies.
