Immunologist founder turned deep biotech investor
Steve Gillis, PhD, is a Managing Director at ARCH Venture Partners, joining as a Venture Partner in 2005 and becoming a Managing Director in 2006. An immunologist by training with over 300 peer-reviewed publications, he co-founded Immunex Corp. (Washington's most successful venture-funded biotech) and Corixa Corp. (acquired by GlaxoSmithKline in 2005). He holds a BA from Williams College and a PhD from Dartmouth College. He currently chairs and leads boards of numerous ARCH portfolio companies in oncology and immunology.
